PATIENT TRANSPORT OFFICER – LODDON MALLEE – CASUAL, ONGOING

As a Patient Transport Officerwith Ambulance Victoria, you will provide safe and efficient non-emergency patient transport, ensuring comfort and wellbeing throughout the journey. This role includes timely response to cases, accurate documentation, and effective communication with healthcare professionals. You'll maintain vehicles and equipment to AV standards while delivering patient-focused care and supporting team goals.

We are two seeking a casual Patient Transport Officers to operate from the Epsombranch. To be considered for this position, you must be available to commence and attend induction for 4 weeks from Monday 30 March 2026.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Working from Monday to Friday between 8am – 8pm on 10‑hour shifts, Patient Transport Officers (PTOs) provide effective and efficient care and transport of non‑emergency pre and post‑hospital patients, this roster pattern includes one weekend every three weeks.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Respond to all cases in a timely manner.
* Provide appropriate patient assessment, care, and transport, in accordance with applicable regulations.
* Complete Patient Care Records and other relevant documentation in an accurate manner
* Provide effective patient handover to hospital staff/patient relatives.

ABOUT YOU
To be considered for this position you will have:
* Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport or equivalent including (Qualified Ambulance Paramedic, Diploma of Emergency Health Care, Bachelor of Health Science, Paramedicine Degree)
* Current Victorian driver license
* Minimum 100 hours of on-road clinical experience completed within a two-year period
* Demonstrated understanding of Scope of Practice/Clinical Practice Guidelines for the role you are applying for

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The successful applicant is required to:
* Drive and operate any of AV's operational fleet
* Attend a 4-week induction program during business hours in metropolitan Melbourne
* Live 45-60 minutes from the advertised work location (to manage fatigue)
Candidates may be required to undergo:
* Pre-employment screening including references, misconduct and Police Checks.
* Assessment of any secondary employment or outside interests.
The salary for this role is in alignment with the Ambulance Victoria Enterprise Agreement 2024 classifications, plus super.
