Job Summary
This appointment supports the expansion of the clinical team at Ipswich Hospital. The successful candidate will join the current Gynaecological Oncologists, Mr. Barnaby Rufford and Miss Wendy MacNab. Applicants should have entry onto the Specialist Register, be within 6 months of CCT, or have completed CESR and be on the Specialist Register.
Main duties of the job
The full-time job plan includes 10 programmed activities, with approximately 1.5 allocated for SPAs (Supporting Professional Activities) for activities like appraisals, CPD, and mandatory training. Additional SPA time may be allocated after agreement with the clinical director. The role also involves an on-call commitment of 0.5 PA. The goal is to deliver gynecological oncology services efficiently within resource constraints.

Job Responsibilities
* Participate in Clinical Governance programs
* Provide clinical leadership for the Gynaecological Oncology Centre
* Develop standards and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care
* Supervise junior medical staff and participate in their training
* Engage in risk management activities
* Contribute to educational programs and clinical audits
* Teach and train multidisciplinary staff
* Maintain an up-to-date job plan and personal development plan
* Participate in CPD schemes with the RCOG
* Advise GPs on patient admissions
Person Specification
Essential
* MRCOG or equivalent
* Full GMC registration
* Experience equivalent to UK CCT
* Entry onto the Specialist Register in Gynaecological Oncology or within 6 months of CCT
Desirable
* Higher Degree
* Experience in Gynaecology Governance and Risk Management
* Robotic surgical training
Additional Requirements
