Senior Commvault and NetApp Infrastructure Engineer Location: Australia-wide (Remote/Hybrid – All States & Territories Eligible) Contract Duration: 12 Months up to 3 x 12-Month Extensions Hours: 37.5 per week Pay: Range between $900 to $1300 Per Week Security Clearance: Must be an Australian Citizen and have NV1 clearance Start Date: 2 June 2025 About the Role AFSA is seeking a highly experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer with expert-level knowledge in NetApp storage and Commvault backup technologies to join its national team. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the stability, scalability, and recoverability of AFSA’s digital infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments. As part of the Infrastructure Services Division, you will manage, optimise, and secure mission-critical storage and backup platforms, ensuring compliance with data lifecycle requirements, performance thresholds, and risk management best practices. Key Responsibilities Deploy, configure, and maintain NetApp Storage solutions (on-prem & cloud), including performance monitoring and issue resolution Administer Commvault Backup & Recovery across hybrid environments, ensuring data availability and compliance with RPO/RTO targets Design and enforce backup and storage retention policies, lifecycle rotations, and disaster recovery strategies Identify and mitigate risks across the backup and storage ecosystem, collaborating with internal teams and vendors Deliver both BAU support and project-based infrastructure outcomes in alignment with AFSA’s enterprise IT roadmap Lead continuous improvement efforts in process efficiency, documentation, and service performance Essential Criteria 5 years’ experience in senior storage engineering/administration across traditional and cloud-based environments Expertise in NetApp storage technologies and configuration Expertise in Commvault backup and cloud-based data protection platforms In-depth understanding of iSCSI, NFS, and CIFS protocols Ability to proactively resolve issues, respond to incidents, and support operational resilience Desirable Criteria Experience with Microsoft-based cloud storage technologies integrated with Commvault Proficiency in scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation, diagnostics, and reporting Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux server administration Experience working in virtualised environments (VMware, Hyper-V) Strong documentation, stakeholder communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills Why Join AFSA?
