About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Aluminium and Stainless Steel Fabricator to join their workshop team based in Devon Meadows, Victoria. This is a full time role working within a skilled fabrication environment producing high quality metal products for a range of projects.
The work includes manufacturing custom fabricated items such as powder coated aluminium planter boxes, fencing, architectural features, water features and other bespoke metal products used across building and landscaping applications.
Australian citizenship is required for this position.
A current drivers licence is also required.
Key Responsibilities
• Read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications to manufacture custom metal products
• Fabricate aluminium and stainless steel components to precise measurements and specifications
• Operate fabrication machinery including MIG and TIG welders, benders, shears, guillotines and grinders
• Cut, shape and assemble metal components to create finished products
• Carry out finishing work and quality checks to ensure products meet required standards
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment
• Work collaboratively with the team to complete projects efficiently
• Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve fabrication methods and product quality
Experience and Skills
• Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in aluminium and stainless steel fabrication
• Strong experience working with MIG and TIG welding processes
• Ability to confidently read and interpret fabrication drawings and workshop plans
• Experience using workshop equipment including guillotines and general fabrication machinery
• High attention to detail with a focus on producing quality finished products
• Strong problem solving ability and practical thinking
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Completed fabrication or metal trade apprenticeship
• Commitment to maintaining safety standards within the workshop
