The department delivers care across 106 inpatient beds, including 60 acute older persons' care beds, 36 GEM subacute beds, 10 behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) beds, and a 12‐bed GEM‐at‐home service.The service is supported by dedicated aged care nursing teams, allied health integration, a strong registrar and resident doctor workforce, and established education and training programmes.You will provide comprehensive Geriatric Medicine services including:Acute inpatient care and consultative servicesSubacute care (Geriatric Evaluation and Management – GEM)Outpatient clinics including memory, falls, movement disorders, continence, geriatric oncology, and painShared care models including orthogeriatricsParticipation in outreach clinics across regional Tasmania (TAZREACH)Contribution to an emerging vision for an Older Persons Emergency Department geriatrician modelYou will also have the opportunity to contribute to:Undergraduate and postgraduate teachingClinical research and academic projectsQuality improvement and service development initiativesMultidisciplinary team leadership and clinical governanceOn‐call participation and contribution to after‐hours roster is expected.RequirementsHold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or an equivalent overseas specialist qualification (CCT UK, CSCST Ireland, ABIM USA, RCPSC Canada, Vocational Registration NZ)Be eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)The Location Life in Tasmania offers something truly different.
