The CCS Child Care Officer has responsibility for supervising children who are placed in the CCS 'Kid's Room' while their families are attending the registry for a Court ordered family assessment. Due to the stressful nature of Court proceedings some children can be anxious about their attendance at the Court. The priority of the Child Care Officer is to engage the children in activities for the limited time (up to a few hours) while they are in the registry and to ensure the children's safety for this period.
When not required for child care related duties, the Child Care Officer provides support to the CCS Administration Team. When doing this, they undertake administrative tasks such as managing court records and undertaking reception duties.
