Overview
CASUAL SKIPPER — Blue Destiny Boat Charters, located in Fremantle, Western Australia, is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced commercial skipper to drive our 20m charter vessel as a full-time skipper. We offer dive and snorkel charters to Rottnest Island as well as Swan River and ocean cruises throughout a busy charter season. We are looking for staff who are great with customer service, enjoy working on the water, and lead a team of passionate crew. You must take pride in your work, show dedication to customer safety and enjoyment, and ensure every day on the water is a fantastic experience for our guests.
Your duties will include (a comprehensive induction and training program is provided on-board):
* Driving the vessel safely, in accordance with AMSA and company policies/safety management system
* Delivering high-end customer service, with a view to creating repeat customer bookings
* Operating the vessel and passengers safely, in accordance with AMSA and company policies/safety management system
* Liaising with clients and acting as the 'face' of the vessel while on board
* Overseeing the safety of all passengers and crew on-board the vessel
* Working in a small team while providing full coverage of the vessel
Our vessel Blue Destiny is a 20m (68ft) Catamaran and is one of the premier charter boats operating in Perth waters. Essential qualifications
* Master class 5 and MED 2
* HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
* O2 provider
* Elements of Shipboard Safety
* Experience driving charter vessels
* Australian resident
* Driving Rottnest Island and Carnac Island cruises
* Driving Swan River cruises
* Good mechanical knowledge
The ideal candidate will be flexible, friendly, able to work weekends, believe in equal opportunity in the marine tourism industry, and be willing to deliver quality customer service to our clients.
This position is casual in support to our full-time Skipper and Vessel Manager. Over the peak period the vessel operates anywhere between 4–7 days a week. We want to add to our dedicated crew of professionals to continue delivering great service. We pay above award rates and offer opportunities to develop your career on the water or within the dive industry.
