Australian Government Consulting (AGC), situated within the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, is a high‑impact, in‑house consulting function working exclusively for public value—partnering with APS agencies on complex, high‑profile issues that improve outcomes for Australians.
As a Manager at AGC, you will lead and deliver end‑to‑end strategic consulting projects across policy, strategy and organisational performance, working closely with senior clients and stakeholders to shape solutions, influence outcomes and deliver tangible results. You will apply structured problem‑solving, critical and strategic thinking, quantitative analysis and facilitation skills to complex challenges, while contributing thought leadership that helps evolve AGC's service offer and the broader APS consulting capability. You will mentor and support colleagues, foster an inclusive and collaborative team culture, and thrive in fast‑paced, sometimes ambiguous environments with professionalism and resilience. You will bring strong experience from consulting, advisory or comparable public sector roles, the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, sound judgement, initiative and adaptability, and a genuine commitment to public service and collective impact—along with the curiosity and drive to keep learning, improving and shaping the future of government consulting.
