About the Role Permanent Part Time 32 Hours Per Fortnight from 27 April 2026
The Musculoskeletal Stream Lead physiotherapist is a clinical expert in musculoskeletal physiotherapy in the outpatient setting, demonstrating high levels of specialist knowledge and superior consolidated skills. They are responsible for the provision, co‐ordination and development of Physiotherapy Outpatient services across both Wonthaggi and Cowes sites of Bayside Health Regional Care group.
They will oversee and contribute to ongoing development of the physiotherapy groups to align with current evidence and changing population demands. They also have experience acting on expert advisory committees.
The Grade 3 Physiotherapist is responsible for clinical leadership in the areas of quality, risk management, education and research. They are responsible for the supervision and professional development of the Musculoskeletal physiotherapy team including (but not limited to) Grade 2 physiotherapists, Grade 1 rotating physiotherapists and AHA staff. They have effective skills to manage people, performance and systems, as well as initiate connections and develop relationships with external agencies.
They have high level investigative skills and lead quality and research innovations for service improvement and development in line with the Organisation's strategic plan. They may be required to deputise for the Physiotherapy Manager. They understand wider organisational and public health influences on the public hospital service.

Mandatory Requirements
* Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Experience working in an outpatient physiotherapy setting
* Additional relevant post graduate education/qualifications or progression towards these
* Demonstrated high level of clinical competence and expertise in musculoskeletal
* Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills (including conflict resolution and negotiation)
* Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and modelling of interdisciplinary practice
* Demonstrated ability to teach staff at all levels and across services, as well as members of the wider community
* Demonstrated leadership skills
* Demonstrated skills in innovation, service development, and evaluation
* High level organisational skills
* Understanding of health structures
* Dynamic and innovative problem‐solving skills
* Entitlement to work within Australia
* A Police Check that is current and within 12 months of the issue date
* Provision of valid Working with Children Check
* Provision of an NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Up to date Influenza vaccination of healthcare workers in accordance with Secretary, Department of Health Directions
* Holds, or eligible for, Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) membership
* Understanding of the principles of continuous quality improvement
* Research skills comparable
