We are seeking dedicated professionals to support people with disabilities in their daily lives.
This is an opportunity to work with a pioneering team, providing Support Workers In Daily (SIL) support to individuals living in their own homes.
The successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:
- A commitment to supporting people as individuals.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to form and maintain relationships with people with disabilities, their families, friends, staff, and any others who are involved in the individual's lives.
- A genuine commitment to promoting self-advocacy, human rights, and person-centered practices.
- Experience in or willingness to learn the skills required in providing personal care support to people in all areas of their lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement support plans based on supported persons needs, preferences and interests
- Help with all aspects of daily living from getting up in the morning to going to bed at night
- Aid people to get to their chosen activities like social events, work and appointments
- Promote personal choice and control for the person
- Assist with personal care & hygiene and household duties like cleaning, cooking, and washing
- Administer medication
Requirements
- NDIS worker screening check
- Working with children check
- Unrestricted Australian driver's license
- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status, including booster
- Current first aid certificate with CPR
