Job Description:
This role offers a rich and varied experience in communications, with opportunities to develop and implement strategic campaigns and deliver high-level communications tasks.
The Senior Communications Officer will be responsible for planning, developing, and managing proactive media and communications strategies to promote Council and its facilities to the community and other key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communication, marketing, journalism, or a relevant field, with tertiary qualifications or significant progress towards completion.

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement strategic communication campaigns and plans
* Manage and coordinate media relations, public events, and promotional activities
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and communicate key messages and initiatives
* Maintain up-to-date information on Council's website and social media channels
* Provide advice and guidance to junior staff members on communications best practices
