This position is situated at Australian Catholic University (ACU), where over 2,500 staff members support more than 34,000 students across 8 campuses.
UQU runs a variety of food, beverage, retail and entertainment outlets across university campuses & offers a range of student support services, including advocacy, legal advice and sponsorship of over 190 clubs and societies for UQ students.
About Banyo Cafe & Bar
Banyo Cafe and Bar is owned and operated by the University of Queensland Union. We run a variety of outlets and services across UQ's St Lucia, Gatton, Herston, and Dutton Park campuses, with Banyo Cafe & Bar being our only outlet that is located at a different university
About The Role
Are you an exceptional Cook, passionate about delivering high-quality and skillfully prepared meals within a Café environment?
* Cook & prepare meals (primarily during Breakfast & Lunch periods)
* Maintain a clean and hygienic workspace, ensuring food safety standards are adhered to
* Complete preparation, checks, stock rotation and control tasks
* Provide support to your team by being an extra set of hands (for example, jumping on the coffee machine while the barista takes a break)
Working Hours
This is a casual role, with approximately 20 hours per week, working across Monday to Friday, between 6am and 3:30pm

If you have a genuine passion for creating and serving high-quality, tasty food, this is the role for you The successful candidate will be personable, able to work individually & part of a team and have a strong understanding of WHS and food hygiene & safety standards. You will have excellent interpersonal & communication skills and thrive on customer satisfaction.
In addition, you will possess the following:
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in a kitchen or food and beverage environment
* Ability to work unsupervised and to manage your own workload
* Ability to follow directions and learn quickly
* Follow prep and cleaning lists and ensure accurate record-keeping
* Proficiency in packing down kitchens
* Ability to work well under pressure with a positive attitude in a fast-paced and high-demand environment and;
* Strong knowledge and experience in Food and Work Health Safety.
