Overview
Pembroke School is seeking an engaging and committed Geography Teacher for a full-time temporary appointment, commencing Week 8 of Term 2 and concluding at the end of Term 2, 2027.
This role supports continuity of learning during a period of parental leave and departmental transition. The successful applicant will join a collaborative Humanities faculty within a high-performing secondary school, teaching primarily in the Middle School, with the possibility of some Senior School classes, depending on experience and timetable requirements.
Pembroke School is concurrently recruiting for the Head of Geography. This appointment is being recruited as a contingency to support continuity of learning. Should an internal appointment be made to the Head of Geography role, the scope or duration of this position may be adjusted, or the role may no longer be required.

About the Role
The Geography Teacher will deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences that promote geographical understanding, critical thinking, and global awareness.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Teaching Geography across the Middle School, with potential Senior School classes as required.
* Planning, delivering, and assessing curriculum aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
* Maintaining consistent assessment and reporting practices during this interim period.
* Supporting student engagement, wellbeing, and academic progress.
* Collaborating with Humanities colleagues to ensure program continuity and shared practice.
* Contributing positively to the professional and co-curricular life of the School.
This role may also require teaching across other Humanities subjects. Applicants are therefore asked to indicate which Humanities disciplines they are experienced in teaching.
About You
You are an enthusiastic and adaptable Humanities educator who brings Geography to life through engaging, well-structured learning experiences. You are student-focused, organised, and committed to delivering high-quality, inclusive education within a supportive school community.
You will bring:
* A tertiary qualification in Education with a specialisation in Geography (or a related discipline).
* Current (or eligible) registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.
* Experience teaching Geography in a secondary school setting.
* Strong classroom practice and student-centred pedagogy.
* The ability to work flexibly across Humanities subjects, where required.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and adaptability skills.
* A commitment to inclusive, values-based education aligned with Pembroke's ethos.

* Current Working with Children Check (South Australia)
* Current Plink RRHAN-EC training: Masterclass and Fundamentals (including Protective Practices)
* First Aid and CPR
