Role snapshot 
Join our dedicated Eight Mile Plains team as a permanent, part-time (4 days a week or 60.8 hours per fortnight) Behaviour Support Technician, where you will deliver high-level, evidence-based behaviour support to individuals with disabilities. Under the direct supervision of Behaviour Support Practitioners, you will empower families, staff, and managers through effective training and implementation of Positive Behaviour Support Plans, to enhance the quality of life for clients.

What you’ll do 
- Provide on-the-floor coaching and modelling to stakeholders to ensure competence in support strategies 
- Implement and evaluate the effectiveness of Positive Behaviour Support Plans, reporting insights to Behaviour Support Practitioners for continuous improvement 
- Collaborate with Practitioners to follow written behaviour reduction plans 
- Capture observational data and notes to support refinement of behaviour strategies 
- Ensure compliant implementation of approved Restrictive Practices under practitioner guidance 
- Meet operational, clinical, legal, and financial performance targets 
What we’re looking for 
- Experience in disability support, especially with individuals exhibiting high and challenging behaviours 
- Knowledge of the State Disability Services Act and the National Quality and Safeguards Framework related to restrictive practices and positive behaviour support 
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to support individuals in emotionally charged situations 
- Experience coordinating support for individuals with disabilities and their families 
- Person-centred approaches 
- Excellent written and verbal communication for stakeholder engagement 
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a systematic approach 
Required qualifications 
- Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent experience 
- Completion of (or currently pursuing) Registered Behaviour Technician Course (40 hours) 
- Current Open Driver’s Licence 
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance 
- Current Working with Children Check 
- NDIS Worker Orientation certificate completed (or access at training.ndiscommission.gov.au) 
- Willingness to travel intra- and interstate as required
