As the Contract & Compliance Manager, you will ensure our surfacing and asphalt operations meet contractual, regulatory, and quality requirements while fostering strong collaboration across engineering, laboratory, and operational teams.
You will oversee laboratory processes, support NATA accreditation, optimise mix designs, enhance quality control practices, and champion new technologies that advance performance and efficiency. Additionally, you will contribute to tender development, support delivery teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead quality and compliance functions across materials, mix designs, laboratory processes, NATA accreditation, and client quality forums to ensure all works meet contractual, regulatory, and specification requirements.
* Support project delivery and operations by providing technical expertise, assisting with tender preparation, undertaking project handovers, and optimising delivery methods to meet scope, budget, and performance targets.
* Drive continuous improvement and innovation by developing real‑time quality dashboards, introducing new technologies, and promoting improved construction methods that reduce rework and enhance efficiency.
* Foster strong stakeholder relationships with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and government bodies, ensuring proactive communication, customer satisfaction, and alignment with business objectives.
* Champion Zero Harm and safety leadership through regular safety engagements, risk identification, subcontractor oversight, and contributing to safety plans, audits, and work instructions.
* Develop team capability and promote knowledge sharing by mentoring staff, supporting training initiatives, and enhancing quality, operational, and technical understanding across engineering, laboratory, and operations teams.
What you'll bring
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
* Proven experience in road surfacing or civil road construction projects.
* Strong understanding of tendering, procurement, contract management, and financial performance.
* Experience in quality assurance, laboratory processes, and compliance frameworks.
* Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
* Sound judgement, problem‑solving capability, and proactive decision‑making.
* Strong organisational, planning, and time‑management skills.
* A collaborative, positive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
