The Team
ASIC's Digital, Data & Technology group delivers a broad suite of IT capabilities to support ASIC. We are currently driving major technology initiatives that will accelerate our transformation across key areas including virtualisation, data analytics, mobility, and cloud. The Data & Analytics Technology team underpins these efforts by providing essential services to our primary stakeholder, the Data & Analytics Office.
The Role
As a Data Architect you will lead the design and governance of ASIC's data architecture ensuring scalable, secure and efficient data flows across the organisation. You'll be responsible for architecting robust data ingestion frameworks, overseeing data integration strategies, and enabling analytics and decision‑making through well‑structured, enterprise‑aligned data solutions that support ASIC's digital transformation.
Responsibilities
* Lead the design of data‑driven applications and oversee data assessment and mapping activities.
* Own data architecture and design, ensuring alignment with ASIC's enterprise vision and architectural standards.
* Scope and architect end‑to‑end data solutions in collaboration with SMEs, Project Managers, and Enterprise Architects.
* Make strategic design decisions to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable data solutions.
* Ensure architectural convergence to meet diverse internal and external service requirements.
About You
The ideal candidate for this role is a strategic and technically adept Data Architect with a strong foundation in data engineering and a passion for shaping enterprise data ecosystems. You bring hands‑on experience with data pipelines, cloud platforms, and data infrastructure, and are ready to lead architectural initiatives that drive ASIC's data transformation and enable impactful, data‑informed decision‑making.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Proven expertise in solution and data architecture, with leadership across architectural domains.
* Experience in consulting and designing enterprise data strategies.
* Strong proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS / Azure), Databricks, Stream Analytics and big‑data technologies (Hive, Scala, Spark).
* Skilled in designing solutions using PaaS and SaaS capabilities across cloud environments.
* Demonstrated experience in architecting scalable, high‑availability solutions across on‑prem, hybrid and multi‑cloud infrastructures.
