The Office of General Practice and Primary Care (OGPPC), within the Health and Community Services Directorate is looking for a driven and visionary professional to lead a transformative initiative aimed at strengthening the ACT general practice workforce. This is your chance to play a key role in designing and delivering a new $4million Professional Development and Wellbeing Fund, focused on supporting ACT GP and GP registrar recruitment, retention, wellbeing, and professional development—alongside the broader general practice team.
In this role, you will:
- Co-design and implement innovative strategies with key stakeholders across the health sector.
- Engage and collaborate with professional bodies, workforce representatives, and policy leaders.
- Develop funding frameworks that drive sustainable workforce outcomes.
- Monitor and evaluate program impact to ensure long-term success.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
We’re seeking someone who is:
- Strategic and solutions-focused, with a track record of delivering complex initiatives.
- Experienced in stakeholder engagement, particularly in multi-sector environments.
- Knowledgeable in health workforce planning, policy development, or primary care systems.
- Familiar with GP training pathways, the ACT health system, and national health workforce policy (highly desirable).
Notes: This is a temporary position available for a period of three years until 30 June 2028. This is a part-time position at 29:24 hours per week and the full-time salary noted above will be pro-rata. A merit pool may be established from this selection process to fill future vacancies over the next 12 months. Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, and designated office based, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
