Team Overview Claims Operations, part of the Claims Management Group (CMG), is a multidisciplinary team delivering claims management services, led by an Assistant Director, comprising claims managers, senior claims managers, and employer account managers, supported by injury managers. The team aims for positive health and return-to-work outcomes for employees and employers, managing claims within their portfolios and collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
Key Duties Lead a team to deliver claims management services, achieve targets, and contribute to improvement projects, ensuring compliance with policies. Understand CMG's role within Comcare's strategic framework. Manage risks and make decisions on claims management, including high-risk claims. Provide advice on complex claims issues. Engage with stakeholders to ensure consistent claims management and positive outcomes. Manage human resources, financials, and team performance development. Integrate claims management with other functions and represent Comcare externally. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including handling sensitive conversations. Qualifications and Experience Mandatory: Tertiary qualifications in law, health, compensation, business, or management. Experience in insurance or injury compensation environments. Desirable: Experience in the public sector. Additional requirements include character clearance, health declaration, probation period, and ability to obtain/maintain security clearance. Flexible working arrangements are supported, with participation in wellbeing programs encouraged.
