The Role
The Drive for Life team leader is responsible for overseeing all aspects of The Salvation Army's Drive for Life Program in Bundaberg, supporting young people aged 16–25 to obtain their driver's licence.
The role involves client recruitment and screening, coordination of driving lessons with instructors, volunteer management, and partnership development with local community stakeholders to enhance program reach and impact.
How You Will Make An Impact
* Coordinate and deliver the Drive for Life Program in Bundaberg and Gympie (remotely), in collaboration with community partners and key stakeholders.
* Manage the coordination of driving lessons with external instructors, train and support volunteers, and tailor program delivery to meet the individual needs of each participant.
* Build and strengthen partnerships with TSA independent schools to promote driver and road safety education.
* Conduct initial assessments and provide holistic support to young people to help them build healthy relationships, engage in education, training and employment pathways, improve wellbeing, and enhance social connection.
* Maintain accurate and timely case notes and records in The Salvation Army's internal case management system.
* Apply trauma-informed and psychologically safe practices when prioritising and delivering support to participants.
* Manage referrals, allocate and monitor a caseload of at‑risk young people, and track progress toward program completion.
* Collect, analyse, and interpret program data to evaluate outcomes and inform continuous improvement.
What You Will Bring
* Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Information Technology, Community Services, or a related field, or significant relevant experience.
* Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
* Experience engaging with people from culturally ands.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Demonstrated ability to interpret data, analyse trends, and apply insights to program planning and reporting.
* Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
* Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
* Current Driver's Licence.
