HIPPY (Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters) is a free, two-year home-based early childhood learning program that empowers parents and carers to be their child's first teacher. The HIPPY Tutor is a rewarding position which provides an opportunity to be employed and receive professional development and training whilst participating in the program.
This is a casual position, with 15 hours per week available during the school term.
You are a parent or carer who participated in the HIPPY program in the past, or someone who is passionate about early childhood education. You will have strong relationships within the local community and embrace principles of inclusion in all aspects of work.
Responsibilities
To be successful in this role, you will:
* Bring good communication skills that will support service delivery
* Be able to work comfortably within client's homes
* Have the ability to assist with preparation and delivery of parent group meetings
* Have an understanding of local Aboriginal culture and a commitment to reconciliation in the local community
* Bring basic administration skills and good time management abilities
The successful applicant must also have a valid National Police Clearance and a WA Driver's Licence.
