Quarry & Mining Manufacture (QMM) is a subsidiary of Tasmea Limited and we offer a comprehensive range of design, manufacture, fabrication, and maintenance services to construction materials (concrete, quarrying, cement, asphalt), mining, minerals, infrastructure, recycling and metal refining sectors.
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Boilermaker to join our team on a full-time basis. You will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, maintenance and repair of major and minor fixed plant including chutes, pipework, and other general steelwork.
Your role will include (but not limited to):
· Read and interpret blueprints.
· Use hand and power tools to cut and shape metal and weld components together.
· Fabricate, assemble, and install metal structures, components, and equipment according to engineering drawings and specifications.
· Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on fixed plant machinery and equipment.
· Perform welding, cutting, and brazing using various techniques and equipment, ensuring all work is completed to high-quality standards.
· You will also be responsible for inspecting and testing completed works to ensure they meet safety standards.
· Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and optimize plant efficiency.
· Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team and departmental staff to coordinate maintenance schedules and prioritize tasks.
· Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition.
The successful applicant will have:
· Certificate III including at least 2 years of on-the-job training or Certificate IV or at least three years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualification
· At least two years of relevant work experience
· Confined Space (within 2 years) or able to obtain
· Working at Heights (within 2 years) or able to obtain
· Elevated Work Platform (advantageous)
· Scissor Lift (advantageous)
· Boom Lift (advantageous)
· Safety, Health & Environment awareness, and experience.
All candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical with drug & alcohol tests as part of the recruitment process.
