Morgan Consulting is delighted to partner exclusively with a high-performance business consultancy as they look to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to own their internal finance function and support a growing portfolio of client businesses. This is a rare opportunity for a senior, hands-on finance leader who enjoys building strong financial foundations — not just internally, but also across fast-growing founder-led businesses. The role blends end-to-end financial control (AP/AR/Payroll included) with practical advisory support, helping clients implement fit-for-purpose finance systems, reporting, governance, and scalable processes. You will work closely with founders, leadership teams, and consulting stakeholders to deliver accurate reporting, strong controls, and commercial insights that drive execution and growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Own the end-to-end finance function (internal)
* Deliver monthly reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow)
* Lead budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning
* Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and payment runs
* Ensure compliance across BAS, GST, PAYG, Super and statutory obligations
* Improve systems, processes, SOPs, reporting dashboards and KPIs
* Partner with senior leadership on commercial decisions and performance
* Support client businesses with finance setup, uplift and advisory (shared services style)
About you
* Proven Financial Controller / senior finance experience
* Strong hands-on capability across AP, AR, payroll, cashflow and reporting
* Comfortable building finance processes and systems from scratch
* Confident working with founders and senior stakeholders
* CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent)
* Commercial, proactive, accountable, and thrives in fast-paced environments
