About the Role
My client is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to service, maintain, and install automated packaging equipment across customer sites. You'll work on a wide range of machinery including robotics, PLCs, servo drives, conveyors, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
This is a hands-on, autonomous role where you'll troubleshoot faults, commission new machinery, support upgrades, deliver operator training, and ensure equipment reliability for a broad customer base.
What You'll Be Doing
* Service, repair, and maintain automation and packaging machinery
* Commission new equipment and assist with upgrades/updates
* Fault-find electrical, mechanical, PLC, and drive systems
* Interpret AutoCAD drawings and technical manuals
* Provide operator and maintenance training
* Complete service reports and deliver excellent customer service
* Travel interstate and work extended hours when required
What You'll Bring
* A Grade Electrical Licence (mandatory)
* Post-trade experience in field service or industrial maintenance
* Strong mechanical aptitude (hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, robotics highly regarded)
* PLC experience – Allen Bradley, Siemens, or Omron
* Ability to read and interpret AutoCAD electrical/mechanical drawings
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously
