KorumLegal is assisting a global professional services and information business seeking an experienced Senior Legal Consultant on an initial 6‐month full‐time contract, starting as soon as possible. This is a senior, highly business‐facing role within a global law and compliance function, requiring someone who can operate with a high degree of autonomy while partnering closely with regional and global stakeholders. The position is based in Sydney, with an expectation of working on‐site at least two days per week (Melbourne‐based candidates able to travel may also be considered).
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will act as a trusted adviser to the business, providing strategic and pragmatic legal support across the APAC region. Responsibilities include leading the structuring, drafting and negotiation of complex and high‐value SaaS, software and digital content licensing transactions, master services agreements and statements of work, partner, reseller and strategic arrangements, and a wide range of vendor and consulting agreements. The role will also involve aligning regional legal strategy with broader divisional and organisational priorities, driving continuous improvement in legal processes, maintaining strong relationships with senior business and legal leaders, and monitoring and responding to key legal and regulatory developments. There may also be scope to support other business divisions as needed.
Requirements
Candidates will have 10+ years of post‐qualification legal experience, gained through a strong mix of top‐tier private practice and in‐house roles within a global or international environment. A deep understanding of technology‐driven commercial transactions, particularly in relation to SaaS and digital content products, is essential. Admission to practise law in a common law jurisdiction, excellent drafting and stakeholder management skills, strong commercial judgement, and fluency in written and spoken English are required. This role suits a self‐motivated professional with the confidence to work independently and influence senior stakeholders.
