About the role

As our next Emergency Management Specialist, you'll play a critical role in strengthening our preparedness, building capability across the business, and leading a proactive approach to risk and response.

You'll work across the full spectrum of emergency management—prevention, preparedness, response and recovery (PPRR)—while fostering internal capability, championing inclusive leadership, and building strong relationships with external partners to keep our people, customers and communities safe.

What you'll do

* Lead and improve our emergency management strategy and readiness.
* Develop and embed plans, frameworks, and training across the business.
* Coordinate with internal teams and external emergency partners.
* Lead incident responses and post-incident reviews.
* Support enterprise risk activities, including key frameworks and ISO requirements.
* Maintain readiness through briefings, reporting, and team engagement.
* Monitor emerging risks and ensure alignment with best practice.

About you

We're looking for a collaborative, influential leader, with strategic vision, technical expertise, and a people-first approach to everything you do. You will also have:

* Experience leading enterprise-wide emergency management programs, including all phases of PPRR.
* Strong ability to lead through influence, aligned with TasNetworks' core values and inclusive leadership practices.
* Proven experience building capability and driving engagement across a wide range of teams
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, including during high-pressure situations.
* High level of business acumen, critical thinking, risk management, negotiation and decision-making skills.
* Ability to identify and improve processes that deliver real value for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Emergency Management or equivalent experience.
* Bonus points if you bring an understanding of Tasmania's power system operations or the broader energy network.
