About the Role:
You will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and implementing process solutions that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for gold or copper processing plants.
* Conduct mass and energy balances for new and existing operations.
* Support feasibility studies, scoping studies, and detailed engineering design.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including metallurgists, mechanical engineers, and project managers.
* Evaluate and select process equipment and technologies.
* Participate in HAZOP and risk assessments.
* Provide technical support during commissioning and start-up phases.
* Ensure compliance with Australian mining regulations and environmental standards.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
* 2–5 years of experience in process design or plant operations within the mining sector (gold or copper ).
* Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, HSC Chemistry, or Aspen Plus).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Willingness to travel to remote sites as required.
* Experience with Australian mining projects or operations.
* Knowledge of hydrometallurgical processes such as leaching, solvent extraction, and electrowinning.
* Familiarity with sustainability practices and process decarbonization.
