Position Details

Registered Nurse – Grade 5 at Mackay Hospital and Health Service.

Salary: $83,465 – $112,064 per annum ($3,199.20 – $4,295.40 per fortnight; $42.09 – $56.51 per hour).

Employment: Permanent Full‐Time (up to 76 hours per fortnight) or Permanent Part‐Time (hours negotiable).

Location: Clermont Multi‐Purpose Health Service, Clermont, Queensland.

Responsibilities

* Fulfil duties in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award 2015 and MHHS values.
* Provide patient‐focused, evidence‐based nursing care and lead/champions nursing staff and students.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
* Participate in quality and safety improvement activities, incident investigations and risk management.
* Provide health promotion, education and support to patients, carers and the community.
* Support application of clinical protocols, pathways and systems; ensure compliance with guidelines and standards.
* Precept, mentor and supervise enrolled nurses, students and unregulated healthcare workers.
* May act as team leader or shift coordinator depending on service size/location.
* Engage in research activities and apply evidence‐based guidelines to improve care outcomes.
* Leadership in professional and clinical practice and participation in governance.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Proof of qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
* Post‐graduate qualification (Graduate Certificate/Diploma/Master) is desirable; one‐year post‐graduate experience preferred.
* Current National Police Certificate is mandatory; cost will be covered by MHHS.
* Trusted by the MHHS Health Employment Directive: vaccinated against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, pertussis, hepatitis B and tuberculosis screening.
* Ability to work all shifts; rural facility on‐call roster may be required.
* Licence to operate a Class C motor vehicle may be needed.
* Willingness to travel within the MHHS district, possibly including overnight stays.
