Ammjohn Solutions seek a skilled Mechanical Drafter to create accurate mechanical models and detailed drawings for challenging industrial and mining projects.
Ammjohn is a dynamic project engineering and management consultancy specialising in managing industrial projects. Ammjohn provides technical services to the Australian energy and resources sector with specific experience and skills in Minerals and Mining, Oil and Gas, Infrastructure, Dry Powders such as cement and alumina and Power Generation Industries.
We are a multi-disciplined engineering company offering a comprehensive service that encompasses the entire project life cycle from pre-feasibility and construction, through commissioning to asset maintenance and optimisation.
Expertise in industrial and mining processing plant design is required for this role.
Key tasks of this role include:
* Develop detailed mechanical drawings and models for mining and materials handling projects in compliance with Australian standards and regulations.
* Ability to draft to varying levels of detail as required, such as models for Concept Studies, Bankable Feasibility Studies and Detailed Design/Construction Detailing
* Design support structures around mechanical systems using Revit as the main software package.
* Create 3D designs from complex, multidiscipline engineering concepts.
* Participate in design reviews and delegate tasks to junior staff for efficient action.
* Provide technical problem solving and advice for projects.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accurate interpretation of project specifications.
* Review and update technical drawings based on design changes and project requirements.
* Conduct quality checks to ensure designs meet industry best practices and safety standards.
* Maintain organised records of project designs, revisions, and documentation.
* Contribute to project planning and design discussions to optimise efficiency and functionality.
* Actively promote safety awareness and environmental responsibility amongst the company and contract personnel.
The following attributes will be highly regarded:
* A minimum of 5+ years of mechanical drafting experience in mining, materials processing, energy and chemicals is required.
* Proficiency in 3D modelling programs such as Revit, AutoCAD and Inventor.
* In-depth knowledge of mechanical equipment to review designs for operability and maintainability.
* On site experience or experience in a design house with industrial/mining plant design.
* Understanding of Australian standards, regulations, and best practices in mechanical drafting.
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
* Team player, with the ability and willingness to work and liaise effectively with a range of technical and engineering colleagues.
* Excellent prioritisation and time management, especially relating to working on multiple projects with multiple project leaders.
