Chief Engineer is a role in Customer Solution Technology is responsible for leading technical design, engineering, technology innovation and continuous improvement of capabilities underpinning the Fraud and Scam, Deceased Estates and Complaints part of Westpac Group. The role will focus on setting the engineering vision, driving technical design, and ensuring the quality and consistency of engineering deliverables and practices. It will lead the engineering chapter to uplift capabilities, enhance processes, and embed best practices. The role will also collaborate with talent acquisition, vendors, and partners to meet demand and secure the right engineering talent. Additionally, it is responsible for optimising engineering costs, boosting productivity, and leading strategic workforce planning to build capability and maturity across Collections Technology in partnership with the Heads. What do I need? Over 5 years of experience in Fraud and Scam Technology Engineering. More than 10 years of people leadership experience, including building and managing high-performing engineering teams. 10 years of expertise leading DevSecOps, system integration design, and engineering across enterprise applications and complex integrations. Practical experience applying AI technologies to enhance system intelligence and automation. Proven stakeholder management experience at senior levels, including up to General Manager (GM) level. Experience within the financial services sector will be considered advantageous. Why join us?
