St Anthony's School is seeking a qualified and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our community. The School Nurse plays a vital role in supporting the health, wellbeing and safety of our students, staff and visitors, and works closely with families and the leadership team to ensure best practice in student care.
This position requires strong clinical judgement, excellent organisation, and the capacity to build calm, professional relationships in a busy school environment.
Key responsibilities
The successful applicant will:
* Provide primary health care appropriate to individual needs and situations
* Assess, triage and treat injuries and acute illness within the scope of professional nursing practice
* Administer medications in accordance with parental consent and school policy
* Liaise with parents, caregivers, teachers and leadership regarding student health needs
* Maintain Emergency Action Plans and ensure required medications accompany students to excursions and off-site activities
* Document and report incidents, injuries and health presentations
* Manage the First Aid Room, including stock control, ordering and monitoring expiry dates
* Prepare and replenish first aid kits and duty bags
* Support students with additional or complex medical needs
* Assist with staff education in first aid procedures and equipment use
* Provide health education and promotion for students, parents and staff
* Maintain accurate records and statistics related to sick bay attendance
* Provide advice regarding communicable diseases and school health procedures

* Current registration as a Registered Nurse
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
* The ability to maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation
* Strong organisational and time-management capacity
* A proactive approach to student wellbeing and safety
* The ability to work independently while collaborating with staff and families
Essential requirements
* Registered Nursing qualifications
* Eligibility to work in Australia
* Support for the Catholic ethos of the school
* A current National Police History Check
* A Working With Children Check (required upon appointment)
