About The Team
Social Infrastructure & Citizen Services delivers the critical thinking, building, maintenance, and sustainment behind Australia and New Zealand’s essential public assets, facilities, and community services. The communities we serve are at the heart of our operations. Our work includes facilities management of critical public assets, precinct upgrades, new energy solutions, and professional and technical advisory. We operate healthcare and education facilities, custodial facilities, manage customer data centres and critical systems, and take asset management risk over 25 years through our Public Private Partnership (PPP) contracts. Job Description
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an energetic, enthusiastic, customer and safety-focused Security Officer. Reporting to the Security Manager, the Security Officer’s role is to ensure the safety and security of persons, premises, and assets, while providing exceptional customer service to all stakeholders.
The Security Officer Responsibilities Include (but Not Limited To)
1. Provide exceptional customer service to all stakeholders
2. Conduct regular foot patrols of the site and its assets
3. Perform unlock and lock-up of access points within the site
4. Monitor, control, and maintain CCTV, access control, and BMS systems
5. Operate fire systems
6. Respond to incidents, resolve issues, and report accordingly
7. Manage contractors and visitors onsite
Skills And Experience
1. Minimum 2 years of security experience (Control Room experience highly regarded)
2. VIC Security Licence (must include Control Room and Monitoring accreditation)
3. Current First Aid & CPR certification
4. Knowledge of work health and safety and risk management practices
5. Understanding of current industry standards and requirements
6. Proven experience in emergency response procedures
7. Strong customer service skills
8. Excellent written and oral communication skills
9. Experience operating systems within a Control Room environment (including CCTV, Access Control, BMS; Intergriti and Avigilon experience highly regarded)
10. Ability to understand, interpret, and follow policies, procedures, and instructions
11. High level of computer proficiency (including Microsoft Office suite)
12. Working with children card or willingness to obtain one
