Senior Estimator Position

This role involves overseeing the estimation department and ensuring competitive tendering, cost control, and financial targets are met.


Main Responsibilities:

* Develop and Implement Strategies: Develop strategies for competitive tender procurement aligned with business goals and objectives.
* Mentor and Train Staff: Mentor and train staff in accurate take-offs, pricing, and strategic subcontractor alliances to enhance their skills and knowledge.
* Oversee Estimating Software: Oversee the use of estimating software to streamline tender processes and project handovers, improving efficiency and productivity.
* Ethical Tendering Practices: Ensure adherence to ethical tendering practices, including effective communication with subcontractors and pre-tender meetings.
* Database Management: Maintain and update databases for conceptual and hard bids, ensuring timely client deliverables and meeting deadlines.
* Collaboration and Optimization: Collaborate with operations and business development teams to optimize cost accounting and project timelines, resulting in better outcomes and increased profitability.
* Tracking Project Outcomes: Monitor and track job costs, unit production, and profitability to maximize project outcomes and achieve set targets.
* Relationship Building: Build and sustain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, fostering a strong network and promoting long-term partnerships.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

* Tertiary Degree: A tertiary degree in building management, quantity surveying, or an equivalent field is required.
* Industry Experience: Minimum 5 years of industry experience in estimating with a strong understanding of residential estimating principles.
* High Rise Experience: Previous experience working on high-rise projects is advantageous but not essential.
* Software Proficiency: Proficiency in BuildSoft, EstimateOne, or similar software is necessary for this role.
* Leadership and Strategic Planning: Strong leadership, strategic planning, and financial acumen are essential for success in this position.
