Job Description
The Transition to Specialty Practice Program is an immersive professional development opportunity designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge to excel in the dynamic world of intensive care nursing. This program will provide you with a comprehensive learning experience, including tutorials, clinical hurdles, and assessments, as well as providing nursing care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
Your learning objectives will be guided and supported by Clinical Educators dedicated within the respective intensive care units. You will gain knowledge and confidence in a range of skills and competencies, including contributing to a safe and effective patient care environment, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions, and providing competent care to patients requiring ventilatory and oxygenation support.
In this role, you will work across supported clinical shifts within the unit, preparing you to take on further studies within Critical Care. At the completion of the TSP program, you will have gained the skills and knowledge necessary to make a meaningful contribution to the delivery of high-quality patient care in the Intensive Care Unit.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A commitment to patient-centred care and advocacy
* Recent or Current acute nursing experience
* Strong time management and communication skills
* Australian working rights
* Current AHPRA registration
