Site Engineer – Commercial Construction
A major Canberra-based commercial construction contractor is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support construction control across large, complex building projects.
This is a site-based role within a well-established delivery team, suited to a capable engineer who is confident operating on high-value projects with strong systems, clear processes, and experienced leadership.
• Provide on-site engineering support across active commercial construction projects
• Manage construction control activities including QA, ITPs, inspections, and technical compliance
• Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to maintain programme and quality outcomes
• Review drawings, specifications, and construction details to resolve technical issues
• Manage RFIs, shop drawings, and design coordination matters
• Support site sequencing, logistics, and short-term programme tracking
• Work closely with the Project Manager and Site Manager to ensure disciplined site delivery
About You
• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on medium-to-large commercial construction projects
• Strong understanding of construction methodology, site controls, and QA systems
• Confident working within structured project environments and established processes
• Comfortable managing technical issues on live, fast-paced sites
• Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate multiple trades and consultants
• Degree-qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
