Background
The Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) provides a critical role in safeguarding Australia through a world-class, compliant and safe Defence and national security explosives research capability.The DSTG Explosive Ordnance Management Team (EOMT) provides Explosive Ordnance (EO) management, safety, technical, logistics, facilities and operations capability support to the Defence EO science and technology (S&T) research program and staff.The EO capability area is currently undergoing a reform program and additional technical support is required in the key areas of EO Facilities, Logistics and Inventory Management & Information Systems.You will be required to work for/with the EO Management Team members in undertaking their tasking.
Your mission
* Undertake duties of EO Driver for the transport of EO within DSTG Edinburgh, and externally to RAAF Edinburgh, P&EE Port Wakefield and Woomera under the control of an EO supervisor.
* Assist with the unpacking, repackaging and sealing of EO.
* Assist with EO road/air movement administration paperwork.
* Escorting of maintenance personnel within EO facilities.
* Assist with the disposal of energetic waste material utilising the DSTG Edinburgh burn Facility.
* General housekeeping of EO facilities
* Assist EO Facilities Inspections.
* Submission and monitoring of EO facilities works requests.
* Undertake EO stock control tasks including the issuing and receiving of EO to customers.
You will need
* Experience as an Explosive Ordnance Driver for the transport of EO
* Apply technical knowledge and experience to assist with the unpacking, repackaging and sealing of EO.
* Familiarity with EO road/air movement procedures, administration and paperwork.
* Knowledge and Experience of EO Facilities Inspections and EO stock checks.
* Experience in EO stock control tasks (including but not limited to issuing and receiving of EO)
* Desirable - Experience in the disposal of energetic waste material.
* Desirable - Hold a Forklift Licence.
Must be an Australian citizen for security clearance purposes.
