The role / impact
As a Lead Product Manager, you will take ownership of critical initiatives that underpin Xero's global growth, specifically focusing on how we monetise products for millions of small businesses. You will lead the way in defining the next decade of our billing strategy, ensuring our systems are robust, scalable, and capable of supporting complex, multi-market requirements.
Your influence extends beyond shipping products; you will be a key mentor and craft leader for a talented group of junior Product Managers. By establishing high-quality product processes—from work intake funnels to detailed product specifications—you will help uplift the entire team's capability and ensure we continue to deliver beautiful experiences for our customers.
The team / how they connect
You will join the Product Packaging and Subscriptions team, a group of eight specialists spread across Australia, New Zealand, and India who manage the platform responsible for 95% of Xero's revenue. The team operates with a high degree of cross-functional collaboration, working closely with engineering, design, and commercial stakeholders to turn pricing strategies into reality.
The team is currently working on / Initially, you will focus on
* Migrating our billing backbone to Chargebee, a modern SaaS platform that will unlock flexible bundling and usage-based billing.
* Implementing AI-driven monetisation features and annual billing projects that directly impact Xero's global expansion.
* Defining and refining core product rituals and documentation standards to improve how work flows from idea to delivery.
* Partnering with senior leadership to shape the long-term vision for how Xero packages its products across diverse international markets.

This role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney, offering a hybrid working model that balances local team presence with a global scope of work. You will have the flexibility to work from home while connecting with your colleagues in our modern office spaces during designated boost days.

* Your toolkit includes a natural curiosity for AI, and you can share practical examples of how you use these tools to enhance your daily product discovery and analysis.
* You possess the ability to communicate structured, async updates and complex trade-offs to both technical teams and executive leadership with clarity and ease.
* A passion for mentorship is essential, as you will enjoy coaching others and modelling best practices in product craft.
* You thrive in ambiguous environments and feel comfortable making high-stakes prioritisation decisions that protect your team's focus.
* Your experience with SaaS platforms and experimentation frameworks allows you to run A/B tests and cohort analyses to drive meaningful commercial outcomes.
