Business Analyst – Information Governance & Digital Enablement Location: Brisbane (hybrid/flexible)

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a newly established directorate.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping ways of working, as the directorate delivers against a two-year strategy and roadmap.
As part of the Tactical Technical Solutions (TTS) team, you will collaborate with data engineers, SAP specialists, delivery leads, and program resources.
Your focus will be on translating business needs into clear, testable specifications for dashboards and reports that support decision-making and continuous improvement.
This is a fast-paced, Agile-driven environment where collaboration, adaptability, and strong stakeholder engagement are key.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business areas to capture requirements and define MVPs
- Facilitate workshops, wireframing, and validation of requirements
- Document requirements as well-structured user stories and acceptance criteria
- Support development teams in interpreting requirements and delivering solutions
- Coordinate and prepare UAT resources and support data reconciliation/validation
- Ensure smooth transition of reporting products into BAU support
- Work with stakeholders to diagnose information challenges and recommend improvements
- Contribute to information governance uplift (data ownership, metadata standards, data quality)
- Assist in developing repeatable methods for requirement capture across work streams
About You
- 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, ideally in government or large enterprise environments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas and prepare persuasive documentation
- Proven experience eliciting, documenting, and validating requirements for dashboards, reports, and data-driven products
- Skilled in Agile delivery, with certification desirable
- Ability to produce clear specifications (user stories, mock-ups, wireframes) that development teams can confidently deliver from
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (SQL Server, Power BI, or equivalent) an advantage
- Experience with asset management and data disciplines desirable
