Position: Chef
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation per annum
Location: Warrnambool VIC 3280
Our client is seeking a skilled Chef to join their restaurant located in Warrnambool, Victoria.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure food is prepared to a consistently high standard.
2. Menu items are completed and delivered ensuring customer satisfaction.
3. Ensure all food is produced within budget requirements: minimising waste and costs.
4. Ensure hygiene standards are maintained at a sufficiently high level and an approved food safety plan is implemented.
5. Monitor and maintain all kitchen equipment in correct operating order.
6. Liaise with the Head Chef to ensure consistency in product and materials.
7. Enforce nutrition and sanitation standards for kitchen operations.
8. Ensuring a high level of team performance
9. Receiving and storing food to health dept requirements
10. Attend meetings as required.
11. Prepare and cook high quality food according to menu guidelines and recipes.
12. Supervise members of the kitchen team who are responsible to you
13. Help to create positive communication between floor and kitchen staff
14. Receive and account for suppliers and deliveries
15. Assist with the training of staff, including any apprentices and trainees
16. Follow correct hygienic food handling practices
17. Follow the restaurants regular cleaning and waste
18. disposal practices
19. Use safe work practices and support others to use them
20. Maintain kitchen equipment and plant in good condition
21. Demonstrate sound teamwork / organisational skills
22. Monitor revenue and cost performance
23. Guarantee Quality Standards
24. Practice cost controls
25. Maintain the kitchen
26. Complete administrative duties.
Requirements:
1. Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Hospitality
2. At least 12 months of relevant experience as a Chef.
