Grounds and Facilities Manager Position
This role involves overseeing the maintenance of school facilities and grounds care.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing fields in advance for various sports, including cricket, rugby, and football. They will also need to service and maintain equipment and machinery, as well as manage chemicals for grounds care.
A key aspect of this position is the ability to work autonomously and develop positive working relationships with team members. Effective communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to follow workplace health and safety guidelines and procedures.
* The ideal candidate will have knowledge of sporting field management and be able to acquire necessary certifications, such as AHCCHM304 - Prepare and apply chemicals to control pests, weeds, and diseases; AHCCHM307 Transport & store chemicals.
* They will also need to demonstrate an understanding of the work environment of a school, including security requirements and the need to protect buildings, access, personal property, and equipment.
Beyond the day-to-day responsibilities, the Grounds and Facilities Manager will play a key role in maintaining and preparing tennis/netball courts and surrounding amenities. This may involve liaising with contractors, P&C members, and other stakeholders.
Suitable candidates will have a strong background in grounds care and maintenance, with experience in managing teams and prioritizing tasks effectively. They will also possess excellent problem-solving skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
The salary for this position reflects its full-time status, and the successful candidate can expect to work 38 hours per week, plus additional hours as required.
