Reporting to the Executive Editor, you'll be responsible for working independently with the support of a collaborative newsroom culture that values bold ideas, journalistic integrity, and creativity. Functions will include:
* Pitch, research, and produce original, high‑quality news stories for broadcast.
* Work under tight deadlines to deliver clear, accurate, and engaging TV news content.
* Report live with confidence on breaking news events.
* Take the lead on complex news stories, from concept to broadcast, with minimal supervision.
* Proactively source and line up stories, ensuring comprehensive and dynamic coverage.
* Cover other newsroom roles as required.

* Strong news judgment and a deep understanding of the TV news landscape.
* Exceptional communication skills—both on‑air and behind the scenes.
* Highly motivated to cultivate contacts, you're not afraid to pick up the phone.
* Ability to work under pressure and make quick, accurate editorial decisions.
* Proven track record in television news reporting.
* In‑depth knowledge of local, national, and international current affairs.
* Proficiency in non‑linear editing systems, with experience in TV news production.
* Flexibility to work across different shifts, including weekends, to meet newsroom demands.
* Strong grasp of media law and its application in news reporting.
