About the Role
As a strategic leader, you will oversee the safety and environment functions across our organisation. Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for developing tailored frameworks, procedures, policies and programs to minimise risk and enhance environmental performance.
This is a critical role in ensuring the well-being of our employees and the safety of our operations.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety leadership to senior managers and frontline supervisors.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
* Lead the national Food Safety and Compliance team to achieve high-performance results.
* Work with managers and WHS Committee representatives to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
* Manage a program of health and safety audits to review against legislative requirements and company guidelines.
* Develop and implement long-term strategies to ensure regulatory compliance across all regions.
* Oversee the identification and mitigation of hazards, incident reporting and investigation, and implementation of improvement controls.
* Ensure the Safety Management System (SMS) is implemented in line with global requirements.
* Develop and implement environmental strategies, policies, practices, and action plans for corporate sustainable development.
Requirements
* Demonstrated success in a similar role with at least 10 years of experience.
* A formal qualification in workplace health and safety and working knowledge of occupational health and safety management principles.
* Understanding of environmental metrics and experience in reporting sustainability disclosures.
