ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Finance Accounting Clerk plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and accurate operation of East Coast Car Rentals' (ECCR) financial processes.
This role is responsible for managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end account reconciliations, while supporting the CFO in maintaining the financial integrity and efficiency of the organisation.
You will work closely with the CFO, other finance staff, and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including the Leadership Team, Directors, and management to deliver timely, accurate, and compliant financial outcomes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Processing accounts payable and receivable in Xero, maintaining accurate documentation and archiving.
Managing payroll functions including employee setup, fortnightly pay runs, superannuation, and payroll reconciliations in Employment Hero and Xero.
Completing bank reconciliations for sales receipts, credit card transactions, and EFT payments.
Assisting in month-end general ledger reconciliations and the preparation of management reports across all ECCR entities.
Drafting and maintaining finance process documentation, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll procedures, with annual reviews.
Developing and updating spreadsheets and financial analysis reports to support decision-making.
Providing timely financial reports and analytics to management upon request.
Supporting the CFO with ad-hoc tasks and finance-related projects.
Assisting in the supervision and development of the Accounts Officer.
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance finance function efficiency and accuracy.

ABOUT YOU
Qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll management.
Proven experience with financial software systems, particularly Xero and Employment Hero.
Strong understanding of accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and reconciliation processes.
High level of numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to develop and maintain analytical reports.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work autonomously and prioritise competing demands.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and initiative in improving financial processes.
A sense of ownership and accountability — you take pride in your work and the results you deliver.
Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
The role will be situated in our Corporate Head Office in Southport, Gold Coast, QLD.
