Location: Horsham, VIC. This is a casual position based in Horsham. Compensation is in accordance with the General Retail Award Level 3.
About The Role
We’re looking for passionate, customer-focused individuals to join our vibrant thrift store team. As a Sales Assistant, you\'ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional service, creating a welcoming store environment, and helping generate the surplus that supports our local mission work. You’ll assist with everything from engaging with customers and processing donations, to merchandising and maintaining a clean, safe store environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a quick-paced setting, enjoys working with people from all walks of life, and wants their work to make a meaningful difference. Reporting to the Thrift Shop Manager, this is a casual position, based in Horsham, VIC.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver outstanding customer service with warmth and professionalism
- Support the daily operations of the store, including donations, displays, and stock rotation
- Assist with promotional activities and store events
- Help maintain visual merchandising standards
- Ensure a clean, safe and welcoming environment for everyone
- Work in line with The Salvation Army’s mission, values, and safety protocols

- Retail and/or customer service experience (paid or volunteer)
- A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Strong communication and time-management skills
