Base pay range
A$115,443.00/yr - A$125,832.00/yr

To succeed in this role, you will be a member of the Operational Technology and Engineering (OTE) Section, which ensures the development, delivery and operation of measurement equipment and systems to meet performance and functional requirements.
This includes sensors/networks such as:
Radar and Wind Profilers
Automatic Weather Stations
Flood Warning
Aircraft Based Observations
The OTE Section comprises a diverse team responsible for engineering solutions across technologies from radars to rainfall stations, drifting buoys to satellites and ships at sea, to meet business needs.
This position focuses on supporting the Bureau\'s current and future network of Automatic Weather Stations, particularly the software, testing, configuration and rollout aspects of these systems.
Responsibilities
Experience in software development (mandatory scripting), equipment testing, verification and operationalisation, with ability to document outcomes through procedures, reports, and presentations.
Lead within a team environment, collaborate with people, and foster delivery and innovation.
Extensive experience in data acquisition, measurement technologies and engineering.
Extensive experience in mentoring and guiding technical teams.
Strong communication and liaison skills.
High level coordination and reporting skills.
Understanding, development and implementation of successful strategic initiatives.
Demonstrated enthusiasm and drive.
Qualifications / Requirements
Experience in software development (including scripting), testing, verification and operationalisation of equipment.
Proven leadership and mentoring capability within technical teams.
Extensive experience in data acquisition and measurement technologies.
Strong communication, coordination and reporting skills.
