About the Role
Bring your creative storytelling and technical expertise to Curtin University as an Educational Media Developer within the Centre for Learning Enterprise and Partnership Engagement (CLEPE). Reporting to the Manager, Short Form Learning, you'll design and produce innovative, high-quality video and multimedia content that supports a wide range of digital learning initiatives. In this role, you'll combine creativity, design insight and technical skill to craft accessible, brand-aligned resources that enrich the learning experience for both students and staff. Collaborating with learning designers, academics and other stakeholders, you'll transform educational ideas into engaging videos, animations, graphics and interactive media that reflect Curtin's commitment to excellence in digital education.
Responsibilities
* Conceptualize, design and produce innovative digital media to enhance a range of learning experiences.
* Plan, script, film, edit and deliver engaging short‑form videos for micro‑credentials, online modules, professional learning and events.
* Create high‑quality multimedia and e‑learning assets including graphics, illustrations, templates, animations and interactive elements, using a range of educational media software.
* Partner with learning designers, academics and key stakeholders to transform educational concepts into clear, visually compelling learning resources.
Selection Criteria
* A relevant tertiary qualification in media production, graphic design, digital media, educational technology or a related field, with substantial relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training.
* Proven expertise in video production, editing, lighting, sound, graphics, illustration and motion design, using tools such as Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, DaVinci Resolve or similar.
* Experience creating short‑form and educational video content, as well as static and animated graphics to support learning outcomes.
* Strong understanding of learning design principles and the role of visual media in enhancing engagement and assessment.
* Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects, meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail while working independently or collaboratively.
* Well‑developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and communicate professionally with diverse stakeholders.
Role Requirements
As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
