About the Role
We are seeking a Land Management Specialist to join our team in South Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical advice on land management activities, overseeing the management of bushfire and feral animal control activities, liaising with Defence Estate Land Management for all land management activities, and planning the delivery of land management works.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
* Managing bushfire control activities to mitigate risks and ensure safety across the estates.
* Overseeing feral animal control activities to maintain ecological balance.
* Planning and coordinating the delivery of all land management works, ensuring compliance with project timelines and standards.
* Conducting regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to land management protocols and procedures.
* Preparing and presenting reports on land management activities, highlighting achievements and identifying areas for improvement.
* Ensuring that all land management activities comply with relevant environmental legislation and Defence policies.
* Fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Defence personnel, contractors, and local authorities.
* Promoting a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process enhancements and implementing best practices.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Land Management, or a related field and at least 5 years' experience in land management or environmental management, preferably within a defence or large-scale infrastructure setting.
