The branch assists with developing the University's Strategic, Operational and Business Plans plus monitoring their implementation performance.As our Senior Data Analyst (Governance) you will enjoy working under limited direction and with a degree of autonomy to support the development, implementation, and adherence to data governance policies, standards, and processes across the university. In addition to this, you will have active involvement in data definitions, data mapping, data catalogue, and metadata management. This pivotal position not only contributes to the establishment and enhancement of data governance practices but also serves as a source of guidance and knowledge for Data Owners, Data Stewards, and Technology teams within the university.To be successful you will need: Demonstrated experience in implementing data governance initiativesDemonstrated experience in collaborating with data domains / business stakeholders to understand their data needs, challenges, and priorities, and to align data governance efforts with business objectivesDemonstrated understanding of data governance frameworks and principlesDemonstrated knowledge of data quality management tools, techniques, processes, and standardsInterpersonal, communication and negotiation skills appropriate for working with a wide range of stakeholders, both within the University and externallyExperience in stakeholder engagement, expectations, and relationship managementDemonstrated knowledge of data management and business intelligence concepts and practicesAdvanced Microsoft Office skillsDemonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations Desirable: Experience with Data Management tools such as Microsoft Purview, Talend, Collibra, etc.Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Cognos, Power BI, Tableau, etc.Experience with relational data bases such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL ServerExperience in utilising Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).Skills in data querying tools and/or programming languages such as SQL Qualification/s: Tertiary qualification in a computer science or related discipline at Bachelor level or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
