ABOUT THE ROLE:

Are you a Civil Engineering student ready to put your learning into practice? We're looking for a motivated and curious Student Engineer to join our Infrastructure team until July 2026 on a part-time or full-time basis (0.6 to 1.0 FTE), offering flexibility to support your study schedule.

In this role, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to support the planning, design, and delivery of key municipal infrastructure projects. From roads and drainage to surveying and customer service, you'll get a broad taste of what working in local government engineering is all about. Key responsibilities include:

- Assisting with surveying works using Trimble GPS and other survey instruments
- Supporting traffic investigations, data collection, and survey data reduction using 12D Model software
- Drafting using AutoCAD or Microstation for civil design projects such as roads, footpaths, and drainage systems
- Helping respond to customer enquiries and supporting internal stakeholders

A BIT ABOUT YOU:

You're currently studying Civil Engineering and looking for a role that aligns with your career path. You're a clear communicator, organised, and keen to get involved in real engineering projects.

Ideally, you'll also bring basic knowledge of civil design principles, familiarity with CAD and design software (12D Model or Civil 3D), solid computer skills and a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
