As a member of the health care team, the Registered Nurse Division one, three and midwife is at the fore front of the provision of high quality patient care on a day to day basis. The Registered Nurse assumes accountability and responsibility for their practice based upon their level of education and competence.
The Position
- Be accountable for the direct delivery of safe patient care.
- Assess the care of each individual through the utilisation of information collected from interview, inspection and observation; plan and implement care as required; identify problems and plan intervention so that expected outcomes are achieved; evaluate outcomes and adjust care plan accordingly.
- Be involved in the provision of outcome based nursing practice by participating in the development and implementation of a planned nursing care approach.
- Complete documentation accurately, legibly and to meet legal requirements.
- Maintain a safe working environment for patients, visitors and caregivers; assist in the review of accidents and incidents, and be involved in ensuring that all equipment is maintained in optimal working order.
- Be accountable for own decisions, actions, behaviours and the responsibilities that are inherent in the role of a Registered Nurse.
You will have an understanding and knowledge of relevant acts, codes and standards relevant to current practice. Holding a registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and demonstrate clinical knowledge and experience in Perioperative Services.
