Position Overview
Ferra Engineering is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer to lead and manage engineering facets of the program.
The role serves as a critical bridge between cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with Program Managers, Production, Quality, and customers to deliver engineering solutions that meet company standards and program specifications.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee engineering aspects of the program, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met on time and within budget.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including external subcontractors and customers, to define technical requirements, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Manage engineering documentation, ensuring all technical documents, drawings, specifications, and reports are accurate and up to date.
Monitor project timelines and milestones, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions.
Interrogate CAD files and customer-supplied technical data to provide comprehensive work instructions for manufacturing.
Provide engineering insights and solutions to challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, schedules, progress reports, and change orders.
Complete tasks assigned by the Head of Engineering efficiently and timely.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Completed Year 12 or higher education.
Strong technical proficiency in mechanical engineering disciplines, CAD software, and other relevant engineering tools.
Aerospace and Defence experience advantageous.
Project management certification or relevant training would be an advantage.
Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
Experience managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and contributes positively to team dynamics.
Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements, unexpected challenges, and evolving priorities.
